About Flash
10-man raiding guild Flash migrated from Talnivarr on august 5th 2010, and are now looking for a select few to join our core team progress through Cataclysm.
We're a group of friends with high standards in this game, who happen to have played together for quite a while. A few years now. And it seems to work really really well. Most of us spent the majority of our early WoW career in high end guilds, back when the game was buggy and a lot less forgiving. Back when the core was the thing, and up through Naxx40, farming server firsts on the server Deathwing, and later on on Talnivarr. Memories of 12 hour shifts, sitting on my warlock alt in Feralas, at the emeral dragons spawnpoint, spamming a /target macro, and then call up the entire guild the second a drake spawned, just for the sake of getting resistance gear for AQ, still haunts me. Despite the whinning, some aspects of WoW changed for the better.
Most of us joined up in late TBC, started up a brand new guild and flattened everything in SCC, MH and BT. Had the fastest progress on our realm back then, due to our retarded dps, which just wouldn't call quits on working on getting that last 0.5% extra dps in from perfecting itemization, rotations and so on and so forth.
Later on, in WotLK, we decided to focus on the format that is known as 10-mans. This was for several reason, but mostly due to the fact that the "elite core" of our guild just happened to be 10 people. This was around when Ulduar came out. We started working on the hardmodes in there as soon as we could, which was great. Good job Blizzard for bringing in non-linear hardmodes, and more hectic ones such as firefighter. Good stuff. Ended up being the #1 10man strict team according to several progression tracking sites, so we kept going for it.
Long story short, most of us took a break from the game once we smahed our way through everything Trial of the Grand Crusader had to offer, still having the best 10-man strict progress, and then took a break from WoW for several reasons. One being the game blattently just being a bit lackluster. Came back in late january. We reformed, went into the newly released ICC, and brought down the Lich King fairly quick. Due to a lot of the guys starting summer vacations early, we had a hard time getting raids together for quite a few months. We then finaly had a chance to get everyone on (/finaly), went back into ICC and sorted out our Glory of the Icecrown Raider meta achivement. Drake in the mail, win. Following that, we thought we should head in and deal with LKhm as well, just for the sake of actualy clearing the place before Cata was released. So got LKhm sorted, and started looking forward, towards Cataclysm.
Then one night we had 3 people from the core team more or less simultaneously post on forums about how they had to go casual, due to getting night shifts at work, not having time for the game due to the baby and the misses, and stuff like that. So we went: "hmm, what now?". We talked it through, and ended up here on Bladefist.
So now we're looking for a few select people who can fill our last spots, and have been for a while now. Maybe we're too picky, but so be it. We're looking for beyond good players, with high situational awareness, who take great pride in doing whatever they can outside of raids to perfect game performance in raids, and who enjoy tweaking and perfecting tactics and all that good stuff. We've been told that we have quite high standards, but that's that. We're looking for people who will be part of our core group for the rest of Cataclysm. People with personalities, since although we do keep Vent quiet, except for our raidleader, every so often we tend to have quite a laugh over Vent. At the end of the day we're buddies. That being said, when we put on the poker face on new fights, we take pride in working as a team. Striving to involve everyone to their max potentual. Keep in mind that we're looking for players, and not necessarily geared characters per se. It's the first tier of Cataclysm, and gearing can be sorted in 5mans. That being said, we wont as much as consider setting food in a 5man with new recruits, unless we've got quite the hunch that they're a keeper, in one way or another.
So - we're raiding from 1900-2400 on mondays, wednesdays, thursdays and sundays. A note on attendance. We want people who are reliable and will show up close to 100% of raids. If your sister is flattened in traffic, forcing you to go to the hospital, and it happens a bit too often, then we're getting rid of you, and finding someone else. A shame, but too bad. During raids we work as a business. Since we're all mates it always ends up being a great laugh though, since people do show. But keep this in mind. Either people in Flash provide what is expected of them, or they're out. Doesn't matter who they are.
